Description

Provides rental and utility assistance for South Dakota residents. Assistance provided is not a loan and does not have to be paid back. Payment is made directly to the landlord or utility provider on the applicant's behalf. Funding amount is based on need. Must meet the following criteria: Income qualifications (vary by county) One or more individuals in the household has qualified for unemployment benefits, experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs or experienced other financial hardship due to, or unexpected hardship. One or more individuals in the household have a past due utility bill, rent notice, or are able to prove that they are at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
