Affordable Housing Solutions | Dakota Land Trust
Fostering perpetual affordability of Home Ownership: Dakota Land Trust is creating permanently affordable housing solutions by utilizing the Community Land Trust Model. Dakota Land Trust takes the cost of land out of the purchase price of the home and sells the home to an income-qualified buyer. The land is then placed in the stewardship of Dakota Land Trust and the homeowner leases the land from the CLT through a 99-year, renewable ground lease. The ground lease connects the homeowner to the community and allows them to purchase an affordable home. The land remains in the stewardship of Dakota Land Trust, creating perpetually affordable home, even after resale.
