Taxpayer Assistance Center | IRS
IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) offer personal, face-to-face help for tax issues that cannot be handled online or by phone. All TACs operate by appointment only. When calling to schedule an appointment, customer service representatives are available 7:00am - 7:00pm, Monday - Friday. Before scheduling an appointment, please visit the website for a list of services offered at your chosen location. For in-person meetings, plan to bring along a current government issued photo ID, a Taxpayer Identification Number, such as a Social Security number, and all necessary tax documents. Many of the services offered at Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) are available online 24/7 and are continually updated with the latest information, useful tools, and other services to solve tax issues. Nearly every tax issue can now be resolved online or by phone from the convenience of your home or office.
