The City of Hill City's Administration team consists of the City Administrator, City Engineer, and City Attorney. The City Administrator implements the policy decisions of the elected body and work on various city infrastructure projects. The City Administrator is appointed for a two year term that coincides with the Mayor's election. The City Engineer is responsible for managing capital improvement projects and reporting information about the projects to the public. The City Attorney represents the city in contractual matters, is responsible for drafting new ordinances and amendments to current ordinances, and is responsible for prosecuting violations of municipal ordinance. Both the City Attorney and the City Engineer are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council.
