Application process
Complete and submit the appropriate form which is available on the website and at local county courthouses.
Eligibility
Must be aged 65 and above or disabled prior to January 1st of the year in which the real property is assessed and the taxes levied thereon. Disabled means you are qualified to receive Social Security Disability benefits, Supplemental Security Disability benefits, or a veteran with a rated disability of 60% or higher. Must have been a South Dakota resident for the entire previous year and meet the annual income requirements.
