Eligibility
14 years of age and older to apply for driver license. Any age can apply for an identification card.

7:00am - 5:30pm (CT), Wednesday & Thursday Applications accepted until 4:30pm

Spanish - for Driver License application, study manuals, and written test
Application process
Walk in or by appointment. Drive test must be scheduled.
Fees
$38.00 for new and renewal ID/DL; $43.00 for CDL License, $20.00 for CDL Endorsement; $20.00 for duplicate ID/DL, $2.00 or 2.95% (whichever is greater) processing fee for credit card payments.

The South Dakota Driver's License Program is responsible for individuals that are applying for a South Dakota Driver's License or Identification Card. Now available in Spanish: driver license application, study manuals and written test. Driving part of the test is still given via English as the spoken language.
