Utility Assistance | Salvation Army of Sioux Falls, The

Provided to prevent shut-off of current residence utilities only (not for deposits or previous addresses). Assistance is for a one-time emergency situation, not on a yearly basis. Client must have tried seeking assistance from Minnehaha or Lincoln County Human Services prior to caseworker visit. The maximum assistance provided is capped at $250.00. The client must provide: Notice of action from Minnehaha County or Lincoln County disconnection notice proof of income includes the following: Wages, self-employment, Child Support, Alimony, Social Security, SSI, SSI State Supplement, BIA GA, TANF-Food Stamps, Unemployment, Worker's Compensation, Section 8, Veteran's Benefits, Retirement, Pensions, Annuities, Dividends, Rental Income, Tribal Lease, Per Capita Income, Prizes, Money from Family or Friends, and/ or all other sources of income for all persons living in the home. Picture ID for all adults in the household Social Security numbers for everyone in the household Name and date of birth for all children in the household

Caseworker is available for rental and utility assistance in-person and via phone: 9:00am - 12:00noon; 1:00pm - 4:00pm (CT), Monday - Friday

Application process

Call to speak to a Caseworker. If funding is available, the person seeking services will need to email or drop off the paperwork required to process their request for assistance.

Fee

Clients will be required to pay at least 10% of the disconnection notice to receive assistance.
