Center for Financial Resources provides financial counseling and education; homeownership counseling and education; debt management plans; bankruptcy counseling; and Sharpen Your Financial Focus. First Time Home Buyer Sessions A certified housing counselor works with clients one on one to complete a pre-purchase counseling reviewing items such as: credit report, current mortgage products, individual budge and affordability considerations and additional financial counseling support as needed. Homebuyer Education Seminars provide comprehensive information on the following topics Money management strategies, including saving for a home Credit reports, scoring and wise use of credit as a homeowner Financing options (including FHA, VA, and RD loans) and working with a lender Predatory lending awareness Shopping for a home and working with a Realtor Home maintenance and the home inspection process Homeownership resources and applicable referrals Home Ownership Counseling and Education Financial Fitness Education
