Description

Provides law enforcement services to the communities of Chester, Wentworth, Rutland, Nunda, Ramona, Junius, and Winfred as well as the rural areas of the county. Duties consist of law enforcement patrol, investigations, and the serving of civil processes for the court as well as maintaining a 20 bed jail facility. The County Sheriff is also the contact for mental health holds and fingerprinting (call for specifics). Contact Lake County Emergency Management or dispatch for information on burning bans.
