The Coalition seeks to increase community awareness of substance use and related problems by informing parents and other community members about the issue. Strategies include: culturally specific experiential camps and weekend retreats, seasonal cultural events, Wicozani Patintanpi (healthy lifestyles) curriculum, Lakota cultural based equine assisted learning and life skills program, and Lakota based sustainable living practices. They also have a youth led social enterprise program that offers workforce development, job skills training, youth led cultural heritage tourism, entrepreneurial skills development, and and training initiative for youth.
