Commercial insurance (BCBS, Avera, Sanford, Aetna, etc.); private pay; Minnesota Behavioral Health Fund (BHF); Iowa Medicaid through Wellpoint, Iowa Total care, Molina; IHS funding; if a resident of South Dakota needs treatment and does NOT have insurance or has limited financial means, the person may qualify for state funding. The first step is to complete an assessment at Keystone Outreach in Sioux Falls (or another professional agency). The assessment is submitted to the State. The State determines the appropriate level of care (Inpatient or Outpatient) and offers appropriate placement. There are separate lines of state funding for the treatment of Alcohol/Drug Use Disorders, Methamphetamine Addiction, Gambling Addiction, and Adolescents with Drug/Alcohol Use Disorders.

An inpatient alcohol, drug, and gambling treatment programs for adults. Care provided by: 24 hour nursing staff, a full-time psychologist, 24 hour on-call doctor, Certified chemical dependency counselors, and ASAM certified Addictionologists.
Based on 12-step recovery model with medically monitored detoxification, Dual-diagnosis track with psychiatrist - For co-occurring disorders, diagnosis must be substance use primary and mental health secondary; Inpatient and outpatient gambling program with certified gambling counselors, Substance abuse, inhalant abuse and Methamphetamine treatment track (IMT), Chronic Pain Program, Medication Assisted Treatment - Different medications are available. Keystone utilizes Vivitrol and Naltrexone. May utilize Subutex and other medications to taper during medically monitored detoxification. Keystone does not utilize Methadone or Suboxone for maintenance.
Unique services available are Native American cultural program (sweat lodge on site, talking circles, etc.), and a Spiritually based 12-step program.
Veterans and retired military. Need to be referred through VA; able to take VA funding. Active duty military and dependents may utilize TRICARE West Insurance.
