Description

Provides learning experiences for students by implementing education programs designed to promote academic success, improve self esteem, and develop the student's awareness of native culture and language. Creates unique and specialized educational plans to meet the needs of individual Indian children. The cultural awareness program seeks to develop and enrich the students knowledge of local art, music/dances, and history and increase their appreciation for cultural differences through performances, guest speakers, and classroom presentations. The supplemental vocational/parental costs program provides supplemental funds in vocational education classrooms of students grades 6 to 12 through purchasing of materials such as shop supplies and cultural art supplies, creating science and environmental projects, and reimbursing ACT/SAT testing for juniors and seniors. The student incentive/awards program provides funds for recognition and incentive awards for students at all participating JOM schools.
