Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) emergency assistance provides interest-free loans or grants to help stabilize a member's emergency financial situation based on the individuals needs such as: basic living expenses, vehicle expenses, funeral expenses, medical/dental, pet emergency surgery or treatment child care/respite, moving expenses, and miscellaneous expenses.
Additionally, AFAS offers to active duty Air Force members only Falcon Loans of $500.00 or less that can be used for emergency needs such as basic living expenses, car repairs, or other approved needs. The streamlined application process for a Falcon Loan requires no budget information, or backup documentation.
EMERGENCY TRAVEL - All emergency travel financial assistance required due to serious illness/death of an immediate family member, grandparent or other family relationship will be processed through the American Red Cross (ARC). Please contact the ARC at 877-272-7337 for immediate assistance.
