CPR Trainings and Certifications | City of Sioux Falls Fire Rescue
Offers two types of CPR classes: Educational and American Heart Association Certification. The Educational CPR training is designed for groups or individuals that do not need certification and covers Hands-Only CPR and how to use an AED. This class will help you to recognize an emergency and how to act fast when minutes matter most. This class is free and takes about an hour. This class does not offer certification is held the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Enrollment is required: click to register. Classes may be postponed due to low enrollment. The American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification uses a blended format. Students will complete the online health portion through the AHA. There is a separate fee for online content. Students can then register for a Hands-on Skills session. There is a separate fee for the skills session, and it takes about an hour to complete. After completion of the online portion and skills session, an AHA certification card will be issued. Additional certifications offered include: Heartbeat BLS (designed for medical professionals), Heartsaver CPR AED (designed for anyone with little or not medical training), Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (the same s Heartsaver CPR and includes First Aid), and Heartsaver Pediatric (designed for childcare providers and covers CPR and First Aid for children).
