The Victim Witness Assistance program explains court procedures and terminology, explains and assists with Victim Impact statements, offers to accompany to court proceedings, keeps victims up-to-date on status of case, offers referrals to agencies, helps prepare victims to testify for court or grand jury, distributes victims' compensation applications, and works as the link between victims and prosecutors.
