60's + Dining is a senior congregate meal program that provides a nutritious noon meal which reduces or prevents malnutrition, a major cause of other health problems. The program also provides socialization for the participants, which helps ease the problem of isolation among older persons. Persons who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or frailty may receive a home-delivered meal, while those who are able to travel meet at a congregate site for their meals. Participants in the program are asked to make a donation for the meal, but no one is refused service if unable to do so. Frozen Meal Program available to any client over 60. Quality, balanced, nutritious meals are flash frozen in specialty containers that can be heated in the microwave.

South Dakotans age 60 and older who have an approved application will receive a monthly box of non-perishable food at no cost. Packages include a variety of foods, such as cheese, juice, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry, or fish, canned fruits and vegetables, and many times a canned entree such as beef stew or chili. Offers a weekly banquet Thursday nights. Open to anyone who wants to come. Served by the churches, businesses and service groups in the Pierre and surrounding area.

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Sallie's Table (Saturday and Sunday) All are welcome around Sallie's Table at the Salvation Army, a weekend meal serving on 4:45pm - 5:45pm, every Saturday and Sunday evening Free Sunday Breakfast 8:45am - 9:30am Senior Neighbor Luncheon (Monthly) Seniors gather together for a time of fun, food and fellowship (crafts, bingo and table games), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, 3rd Wednesday of each month The Salvation Army provides the entree and each senior brings a dish to pass (either a side dish or dessert). Every month a special program is created for the seniors and birthday's taking place are recognized.
