Basic Needs Assistance | Love Inc of Greater Canton
Clearinghouse for local food pantry, gas vouchers, utility (including water, electric, and gas bills with a disconnection notice), and rent help. Love Inc is not income based, rather they are need based. If Love, Inc is unable to help, clients will be referred to the appropriate agency.
Programs include: Friday Backpack Program (healthy snacks for weekends), Adopt-A-Student Backpack Program (supplies and backpack for the school year), personal care pantry, winter coat drive, Helping Hands Baby Ministry, Love Inc's Clothing Closet (a thrift store for the Canton community), and budgeting classes.

Foster Care Financial Assistance | Foster Network, The
Provides scholarship opportunities to assist children currently in the foster care system with the ability to participate in sports, activities, or cultural events. The criteria to apply for the scholarships are as follows: the child must be in long-term foster care, the child or family must approach the merchant and ask for a reduction in the cost of the activity, and no other state or local program availability to assist with the costs. Also provides bedroom furniture and food assistance to enable foster families to take in sibling groups or older or younger children.

Provides gas, electric or water utility assistance for bills at least 30 days past due with a shut off notice (cannot help with current bills). Call for qualifications and appointment time.
TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) is a federal program which helps supplement the diets of low-income families by providing emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost.
Option 1: TEFAP Food Only: Protein along with nutritional staple(s). If no ID, complete 1 TEFAP Self Declaration form
Option 2: TEFAP & Other Food: Protein, canned goods along with nutritional staples. Picture ID and proof of residence required and 2 forms to complete.
Household Voucher: Items used to cook and eat a meal or other household goods such as bed linens, towels, etc. are available from the thrift store 1 time every 3 years. Items are based upon availability and may vary. To qualify, a picture ID is required along with a current lease or rental agreement.
Clothing Voucher: Clothing assistance is available every 3 months per individual from thrift store. To qualify, a picture ID is required along with verification for additional individuals in the household such as medical cards, birth certificates, etc. Items are based upon availability and may vary.
