60's + Dining is a senior congregate meal program that provides a nutritious noon meal which reduces or prevents malnutrition, a major cause of other health problems. The program also provides socialization for the participants, which helps ease the problem of isolation among older persons. Persons who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or frailty may receive a home-delivered meal, while those who are able to travel meet at a congregate site for their meals. Participants in the program are asked to make a donation for the meal, but no one is refused service if unable to do so. Frozen Meal Program available to any client over 60. Quality, balanced, nutritious meals are flash frozen in specialty containers that can be heated in the microwave.

Congregate Dining/Home Delivered Meals | Active Generations

Serving hot nutritious meals daily at both Active Generations Main and East locations. Menus can be found in the monthly newsletter or online. Active Generations Meal Program is sponsored in part by the National Senior Nutrition Project. Funding for Senior Meals is a joint effort between federal and state governments, community support and participant donations. National Senior Nutrition Project provides persons age 60 and over, their spouse, and/or dependent adult living with them a nutritious meal in a social (congregate) and home delivered setting. Menus meet 1/3 of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI's) for the population served and low in fat and sodium. Carbohydrate-counted menus are available as well as textured modified servings.

Your Choice Meal Program | Active Generations

Hy-Vee and Active Generations Nutrition Department partner together to offer "Your Choice Meals" - a hot nutritious meal for adults aged 60 and over, their spouse, and/or dependent adult living with them. The Hy-Vee "Your Choice" card offers the option of presenting pre-paid card at the Hy-Vee deli counter and selecting a meal from a designated menu. The diner can choose one meal per day. Sample Menus can be found on the website ​If interested, individuals are required to fill out a short National Aging Program Information System (NAPIS) form. The information is kept confidential. Senior Citizens Center | Hartford Senior Citizens Center

Hartford Senior Nutrition Meals is for individuals age 60 or older, their spouse, and/or dependent adult living with the eligible participant. Meals are provided by The Wooden Nickel in Crooks. - Congregate Dining: offered at the Senior Citizens building in Hartford Monday - Friday, serving time is at 11:30am. Sign up is required for the meal. Need to call 605-528-3999 by 1:00pm the day before the meal to sign up. Leave a message if no answer. - Home Delivered Meals: offered in Hartford and Humboldt Monday -Friday. Individuals receiving home delivered meals choose what days they would like to receive the meals. To sign up for home delivered meals, call 605-333-3304. When on home delivered meals, will need to call and cancel meals if gone on scheduled day(s). Call 605-528-3999 to cancel. Activities: playing pool, playing cards, and watching television.

Sallie's Table (Saturday and Sunday) All are welcome around Sallie's Table at the Salvation Army, a weekend meal serving on 4:45pm - 5:45pm, every Saturday and Sunday evening Free Sunday Breakfast 8:45am - 9:30am Senior Neighbor Luncheon (Monthly) Seniors gather together for a time of fun, food and fellowship (crafts, bingo and table games), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, 3rd Wednesday of each month The Salvation Army provides the entree and each senior brings a dish to pass (either a side dish or dessert). Every month a special program is created for the seniors and birthday's taking place are recognized.
