ICAP Housing Services provides the following programs: Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention Programs: aims to help two specific groups - persons who are at great risk of homelessness and those who have become homeless. Services that can be provided include case management, security deposit and rent assistance. These services are aimed at helping participants to retain their housing, therefore avoiding homelessness, or to re-enter appropriate permanent housing as quickly as possible. Housing Repair / Rehabilitation: Provides a zero-interest, five-year decreasing balance loan for eligible homeowners to be used for accessibility modifications for persons with disabilities, in addition to making necessary repairs for health, safety and code compliance. Self-Help Housing Rehabilitation: Eligible participants will work with program staff to identify their specific needs and to create a work plan. The Program Coordinator will find the best funding sources available to the homeowners and assist them throughout the process. Weatherization and Furnace Replacement Program: Aimed at making housing for low-income persons more energy-efficient and less costly for the residents. The residence is audited and a list of needs is developed. The program provides the materials and pays contractors for the labor to weatherize the home (caulk cracks, insulate, weather-strip, fix windows, etc.). Furnaces can be repaired or replaced, if not repairable, through the program. In addition, some inefficient/high-cost non-operating appliances (range / refrigerator / water heater) can also be replaced in certain circumstances. Homeless Rent and Deposit: Helping homeless households get into housing. Must provide steady and reliable source of income. Applicant must agree to case management services.

Relief for homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgages. Works with homeowner's mortgage company to arrange a modification to mortgage terms or comfortable pay plan. Counselors will discuss all options available to avoid foreclosure. Agency does not make loans or buy property.

Provides support services for adults with disabilities including accessible housing, nursing care, physical habilitation, and day services. This includes employment and volunteer opportunities. The goal is to help people with disabilities live full and meaningful lives and help them be their own best advocates.

The SDDC provides short-term individualized treatment services for individuals with developmental disabilities to promote skill development and self-management so people can transition to living in the least restrictive environment.

Weatherization is a service to assist individuals in providing energy efficient measures in their homes. A GROW South Dakota representative will conduct an energy audit on the home to determine what repairs are cost effective to increase energy efficiency and reduce the cost of utilities. Common repairs include: adding insulation in walls and attics, weather stripping doors and windows, minor repairs, and furnace repairs and replacements. Income guidelines determine eligibility.

Emergency housing is available for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, or other emergency needs. Emergency housing can last up from 1 day to 7 days. Emergency/urgent secure transportation is available for at risk people.

Provides reasonably sized, affordable homes to income-qualified individuals and families. This low maintenance, energy efficient home is designed to provide ownership opportunities where income levels may have prevented previous home ownership. The simplified home design, in conjunction with the Governor's Inmate Training Program, keeps the cost of these homes affordable.

The SSVF program provides homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing services to help Veteran families keep, or rapidly transition to permanent housing. For veterans and their families that meet all eligibility criteria and are enrolled with the program, the program can provide: Outreach to Veterans Case management

• Financial assistance (for securing/preserving housing)

Utility assistance for water, lights, and heating for current, past due, disconnection notices, previous address, and deposits Rental assistance Security deposits

• Other financial assistance

Child care costs Moving costs Transportation expense Help applying for Department of Veterans Affairs assistance and other benefits Help connecting Veterans with other community resources and services

Provides transitional housing for women with children. Services include shelter, 3 daily meals, case management, transportation (on a limited basis), laundry, and shower facilities. The Women and Children's Home is not an emergency shelter. Drop offs/walk-ins are not accepted. ​Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Provides compassionate and secure care for anyone in need. Services include mental health counseling, medical care, and access to basic necessities.

Rural Office of Community Services, Inc offers the following basic needs services:

• Emergency Rental Assistance

Must be behind (i.e.: if rent is due on the 5th, come for assistance after the 5th). Eviction notice is not required, however, there will be a form the landlord needs to complete the verify rent is past due.

• Emergency Utility Assistance

WAVI works to create a community free of domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, education, and support services. Services provided include emergency room response, court advocacy, assistance filing protection orders, assistance filing crime victim compensation, emotional support, temporary emergency shelter, comprehensive case management, supportive services, and information and referral.

Provides support services to people with disabilities and elderly individuals to assist with living independently. Services provided include: individual and systems advocacy, information and referral, peer support, independent living skills, transitions in living arrangements, home modifications, housing, employment services, recreational services, technology adaptive services, and transportation services.

Serves women with children, including at least one boy up to 18 years old who is in school. Case Management is required. The expected stay is no longer than 90 days. Fathers will still be housed at the Men's Center.
