BAHFH offers an opportunity of homeownership to families that otherwise couldn't afford to purchase one on their own. Applicants must have a need for better housing, the ability to pay an affordable mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity through our "sweat equity" program. Habitat provides homeowners with financial and homeownership counseling, opportunities to work on their own home, and homeownership with a payment they can afford.

Builds homes for people in need: Habitat for Humanity builds houses in partnership with volunteers and people in need and then sells the homes to those people in need, known as partner families. The Home-ownership Program helps individuals who fall between 45% and 80% of the median income, must demonstrate the ability to repay a mortgage, and must be willing to partner by meeting sweat equity requirements. The Home Repair and Aging in Place programs are designed to assist individuals living on a limited income and/or who are not physically able to make necessary repairs and modifications needed for accessibility and safety.
