Permanent, supportive housing for homeless and disabled individuals and families. Case management and referrals / partnerships with area agencies are provided to assist residents to strive for self-sufficiency. Taking applicants but there is a waiting list.

Affordable Housing | Housing and Redevelopment Commission of Pierre

Offers assisted housing, public housing authority, security deposit and rental assistance for the elderly, people with disabling conditions, and families meeting low-income guidelines. Does not offer emergency housing assistance. Families pre-apply and are placed on the waiting list. As opening become available families are contacted. Families are given a voucher to rent with in the community or rent an apartment or home from HRCP. Yearly qualifications are required from the tenant to maintain tenancy. The rent payment assistance has a waiting list and is not an emergency rent payment assistance option.

Supportive Services for Veterans Families | Cornerstone Rescue Mission

The SSVF program provides homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing services to help Veteran families keep, or rapidly transition to permanent housing. For veterans and their families that meet all eligibility criteria and are enrolled with the program, the program can provide: Outreach to Veterans Case management - Financial assistance (for securing/preserving housing) Utility assistance for water, lights, and heating for current, past due, disconnection notices, previous address, and deposits Rental assistance Security deposits - Other financial assistance Child care costs Moving costs Transportation expense Help applying for Department of Veterans Affairs assistance and other benefits Help connecting Veterans with other community resources and services

Safe Home | Minnehaha County

Safe Home is a Housing First model program that involves the program components of case management, groups, monitoring, and community. It provides dignified, affordable housing and supportive services to individuals experiencing long term homelessness and alcohol dependence. It is an apartment building and is not a temporary or emergency shelter. Referrals may be made by anyone (self, friend, family, professionals).

Behavioral Health Assisted Living | Southeastern Behavioral Healthcare

Provides permanent, supportive housing for individuals who have Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and who are / were homeless. Services include on-site psychiatry, case management, housekeeping and laundry services, transportation to medical appointments, medication management, planned activities, and nutrition services.

Affordable Housing | Volunteers of America, Dakotas

Volunteers of America, Dakotas' Summit Heights Properties (managed by Costello) offers 37, 1- and 2-bedroom apartment homes for families who qualify under the tax credit/HOME funds guidelines. The following definitions apply to all applicants to Summit Heights: applicant meets the requirements to live in tax credit/HOME funds-financed housing, applicant abides by the rules and regulations set forth in the residents' rights and responsibilities for the Summit Heights Program for chemical-, alcohol- and tobacco-free living, and a family/household whose head of household, spouse, co-head or sole member is 18 years of age or older. Unit is a non-crime free housing unit, individuals with a criminal history, with the exception of certain violent or sex crimes are accepted.

Transition in Place Program | Volunteers of America, Dakotas

The Per Diem program works to house eligible veterans in community-based housing. Upon completion of the program, veterans will assume the lease and this will become their permanent housing. Once accepted into the program, services provided include: assistance with rent; furniture; utilities; food and coordination with community resources.
