St. Vincent DePaul (SVDP) Thrift Stores throughout the United States are mutually formed in an association of lay employees and volunteers dedicated to serve needy sisters and brothers. For those who cannot afford the clothing, furniture and other household items may be provided them through a Vincentian referral/voucher system. The SVDP Thrift Store aims to serve the needs of people in our community, show people the love of Jesus, and generate money to meet the physical needs of people in need of housing, clothing, gas, food, etc. Surplus funds will be dedicated to the support of Parish Conferences and charitable causes of the Society approved by our District Council.

Services provides for Hyde County including public transportation is available in the Highmore area. ADA accessible vehicles are available to passengers with special needs. Medical appointments pre-scheduled between 10:00am - 1:00 pm CT 9:00am - 12:00pm MT before date of appointment. Trips to Rapid City or Sioux Falls will be coordinated with River Cities Public Transit out of Pierre. (This may affect pick-up times). All out of town medical trips are on a 1st come 1st serve basis and are based on driver availability. Non-medical out of town trips available with 48 hour notice. Medicaid is an accepted form of payment for medical trips. There are many transportation grant opportunities available through RCPT. Call for more information. RCPT coordinates with all other transit agencies in South Dakota and can facilitate a ride statewide. Also, is Jefferson Lines associated.

Assists eligible South Dakota Veterans in applying for the State Bonus Program and coordinates DAV van transportation for medical appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Veterans are encouraged to register their discharge papers (DD Form 214, Report of Separation) with the Yankton County Registrar of Deeds Office for safekeeping.
