Encore Family Store (Lake County) has clothing and other household goods for persons who wish to use the store's services. If an income-eligible person or family cannot afford to purchase the clothing, the Community Service Worker in that county can provide a voucher that allows the person or family to get the clothing at no charge.

The Love INC Clearinghouse takes over 1,200 requests for help each year. These calls are answered by caring volunteers who listen to understand people's situations and direct them to the most appropriate source of help. This can mean a referral to an area agency or services provided by area churches and volunteers through the Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse coordinates the following programs within Love INC.

Purpose is to help residents of Lead/Deadwood who call in to request assistance, or need referrals to deal with life's challenges. The phones are not manned 24/7. For immediate assistance, dial 911 (emergencies) or 211 (for information and referral).

Offers the following services to the community: Clothing Closet (can be utilized once every 6 months except in special circumstances) and a Thrift Store (clothing available at all times for very reasonable prices). The store does sell mattresses and other furniture, when available.

Those in need can find new and gently used items for a minimal cost. The store offers everything from furniture, household, and crafts items to clothing for men, women and children. Earnings from the store are used to directly assist those in need by helping pay rent, utilities, food, clothing, household, transportation for work and medical, prescriptions, and other necessities.

Provides furniture, appliances, clothing for all ages, shoes, baby items (car seats, strollers, bouncers, etc.), hygiene/toiletry items, bikes, bedding, kitchenware, and limited decor.

The Connection Center is a place for people in the community to call in and feel heard. Connection Center volunteers help assess the needs of the caller and are able to provide a referral to the most appropriate help source. Once their need is verified and understood more fully, participants work side-by-side with church volunteers. The end goal is that once their resource or need is met, they have a relationship built and they feel like they have strength to step out of their situation. The Connection Center coordinates the following programs within Love INC and ministries from partner churches: Furniture: Couches, mattresses, bed frames, dressers etc. Furniture Ministry Team helps with pick-ups and deliveries. St. Vincent DePaul (SVDP) Thrift Stores throughout the United States are mutually formed in an association of lay employees and volunteers dedicated to serve needy sisters and brothers. For those who cannot afford the clothing, furniture and other household items may be provided them through a Vincentian referral/voucher system. The SVDP Thrift Store aims to serve the needs of people in our community, show people the love of Jesus, and generate money to meet the physical needs of people in need of housing, clothing, gas, food, etc. Surplus funds will be dedicated to the support of Parish Conferences and charitable causes of the Society approved by our District Council.

A non-profit organization of Christian volunteers who help economically disadvantaged families and individuals in the Sioux Falls and surrounding communities with furniture (including mattresses) free of charge to help them furnish their home. Furniture - referral process:

• Be referred from a community agency (ex: Center of Hope, Lutheran Social Services, Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety , St. Francis House, Church, School, Hospitals, etc.)

• If clients are unable to pick up the furniture on there own there is usually a two week waiting list for delivery of furniture

Deliveries will only be done via curbside service. Furniture Mission will leave the items outside, and applicants must finish the work of bringing it into the home/residence. The truck will wait for a 15 minute window after delivery time, and if no one is present, the furniture will be loaded back up.

​Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity Restores accept donations of overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold to the public to help serve individuals and families with affordable housing solutions. Please note regarding air conditioners - there may be window ac units for purchase, however these are donated units. There is no income based scale/program to receive a discount on these units.

Furniture vouchers only available in an extreme emergency (i.e. fire, etc.), and has been approved through the social worker.
