Foster Care Clothing | Foster Network, The
Available to meet the clothing needs of children currently placed with a family through a licensing agency. This includes children in the foster care system, those placed in kinship care, those placed in safety plan placement, those placed in guardianship, and those who are adopted. Families can utilize The Closet anytime during a season or size change. Children can receive new pajamas, socks, and underwear every six months. Families can come and receive all the necessities to make it through the first week of placement. During their first visit to The Closet, children will receive 7-10 days of clothing and welcome bag containing socks, underwear, pajamas, a pair of shoes, hygiene kit, new blanket, and a book. Also provides seasonal items (winter gear, Halloween costumes, and school supplies) and baby equipment to assist families who are taking in infants.

Items are made available to anyone in Custer County at no charge. In case of emergencies/crisis the Storehouse is opened to fill specific needs (i.e. family evacuated from burned home).

A volunteer based organization that collects and processes clothing and household goods for placement in a free-cycling setting resembling a retail store. All items are free; if someone can make a monetary donation, there is a box for that, but it is not required.
There are no restrictions as to who may acquire goods from the store as its primary goal is to relieve the stigma of poverty and conserve the earth through recycling.
Donations for the thrift store are accepted, except for mattresses or large furniture items such as appliances and large tables.

A multi-day event providing children in foster care the basic necessities for the back to school season (while supplies last). Includes backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and shoes.
If there are families who have children enrolled outside of the Sioux Falls School District, please bring specific school supply list.
Families will need to fill out two forms this year: 1 form to request school supplies (through Project SOS) and 1 form to schedule an appointment based on family size.

Surplus funds will be dedicated to the support of Parish Conferences and charitable causes of the Society approved by our District Council.
