Traffic is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the city's traffic signal system, traffic control signs, and all pavement markings. The Harrisburg City Council consists of the Mayor elected at large and four alderman, two elected from each ward. The Mayor position is a 4-year term while the alderman will hold a 3-year term.

This division assists the public in protecting property values and upholding community standards including enforcement of the city's zoning and property maintenance ordinances, nuisance vegetation, and sidewalk snow removal requirements.

The City of New Underwood uses the commission form of government with a Mayor and four City Council members. There are two wards in the City of New Underwood and two council members are elected for each ward.

The Finance Office is responsible for managing fiscal affairs for the city of Lead. Long Term Services and Supports provides opportunities to enhance the quality of life for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers through home and community based services. Services Include: home care services to help adults remain in their home, safety and help moving around, nutrition and meals, Senior Health Information and Insurance Education (SHIINE) providing individuals information about benefits they can receive through Medicare, caregiver support, Structured Family Caregiving, residential living services, Ombudsman program providing advocacy and education for residents, family, and staff in long term care settings, and adult protective services providing interventions to protect vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance of streets and parks, maintenance and operation of the water and wastewater utilities, and operation of the City rubble site. Street Department: Responsible for 35 miles of City streets and alleyways. Also performs street sign maintenance, street crosswalk marking, clean-up after storms, and many other tasks that require immediate attention. Parks Department: Maintains 220 acres of green space within the City including baseball and softball fields. Water Department: Operates two elevated water towers as part of it's water distribution system. Wastewater Department: Utilizes a Sequence Batch Reactor system for wastewater treatment. The wastewater collection system utilizes six lift stations to move wastewater to the gravity flow sewer mains and to the lagoons for treatment.

Duties include coordinating the work of all City departments and advising the Mayor and City Council on matters relative to the operation of those departments; administering the budget after adopted by the City Council; appoint all department heads and serving as the final administrative authority on personnel matters.
