An intensive, outpatient, 12-step recovery-based center for alcohol and drugs. Services are provided by certified chemical dependency counselors including assessments (walk-in assessments available), day and evening treatment programs, adolescent programs, 12 hour DUI class, Intensive Methamphetamine Treatment (IMT) offered with state approval only, and a Recovery Maintenance Group. This office is located close to the SAM (Sioux Area Metro) Orange bus route.

This program serves male and female youth with a primary diagnosis of substance dependency disorder. Treatment philosophy recognizes substance dependency as a chronic and progressive illness. Treatment includes 12-step groups, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Narcotic Anonymous groups within a therapeutic milieu. Treatment is completed in approximately 45 days.

Children's Services - Provides child centered therapeutic services in the home or office. This program provides mental health services to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The parents, families, and surrogate families of children with SED participate in all aspects of evaluation, planning and delivery of services. Works closely with child-serving agencies and programs.

Detoxification Service: Couteau Des Prairies Hospital will provide emergency, acute medical detoxification services for those requiring these services. A Dakotah Pride Center staff member will provide transportation for detoxification services and a staff counselor will provide motivational counseling for clients who are undergoing detoxification to seek treatment through Dakotah Pride Treatment Center. Pre-treatment Evaluations: Provides screening, assessment, intervention, and treatment placement. Walk-in Assessments for Substance Use available. Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient treatment services are provided for individuals who meet the admission criteria. The objectives of the program are to provide treatment for individuals who require therapeutic and supportive counseling and referral services while living independently, who may have completed inpatient treatment previously but relapsed, or for whom residential treatment is not otherwise possible. The program meets three times a week in three hour long sessions for six weeks. Adolescent Program: Provides outpatient treatment and continuing care services to adolescents that meet the eligibility criteria. Also, provides continuing care services and DUI offender classes.

School-based alcohol and drug prevention and intervention counseling services for students and families. Services include: individual and group sessions, family counseling, drug and alcohol screening, tobacco screening, drug and alcohol assessments, referrals, aftercare (post treatment), and prescription drug lock boxes. Offering tele-mental health services. Must have access to computer with camera and microphone.

The South Dakota Resource Hotline is part of South Dakota's Statewide targeted response to substance use. The hotline provides a place where individuals are able to reach out for information on treatment resources and support for themselves or someone else. The Substance Use Care Coordination program: Connects participants with substance use resources, such as treatment assessments, treatment programs, counseling and social supports. Provides consistent connections during high-risk times for returned use, which may include post detox and before and after treatment. Provides support working on reaching recovery goals. Assists with making connections with appropriate community referrals for financial assistance, transportation assistance and assessing mental health resources. Connects with referral locations to best understand wait-lists, common barriers to treatment completion and share needed information between referral sources. For new referrals, fill out the Care Coordination Referral Form and the Care Coordinator will reach out in 1-2 business days.

Provides traditional outpatient mental health therapy for individuals, families, children, couples, and groups. Also provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychological assessments. Services can be accessed both in person and via telehealth services. Children's services include case management and a home-based program that provides a wide range of therapeutic support. Early childhood mental health services are also available including play therapy. Co-occurring services throughout all programming are available to address not only substance use but also mental health symptoms: Treatment Needs Assessment for Substance Abuse - Offers alcohol and drug assessments to determine level of care needed. Jail Treatment Program - Alcohol and other drug abuse treatment services with an emphasis on criminal / addictive thinking and interactive journaling. The interactive journaling process encourages people to personalize the information they acquire and to take responsibility for their own recovery. Treatment is provided in the Minnehaha County Jail. Adolescent and Adult Outpatient Treatment Program - Consists of group therapy, alcohol and other drug information, skill development and relapse prevention. IMT (Intensive Methamphetamine Treatment) - consists of group therapy, individual therapy, case management, residential support and aftercare services. Intensity of services changes with the length of time spent in the program. Weekly participation ranges from 2-19 hours of service a week, depending on client needs.

Therapeutic services for chemically dependent individuals who meet the criteria for admission. The program incorporates traditional American Indian teachings with 12-step concepts. The treatment philosophy is based on the Red Road, Medicine Wheel, and AA principles. The inpatient program provides 30 hours of educational and group therapy in addition to 12-step study and attendance groups. Clients are provided the opportunity to participate in an Inipi ceremony and/or attend church services.

Residential substance use treatment for individuals suffering from illegal and prescription drug abuse as well as dependence on and addiction to alcohol. A 28-day intensive inpatient treatment program where individuals are emerged in 30 hours or more of programming each week. Clinically monitored inpatient withdrawal management (detoxification) program available if needed. Residential substance use treatment services are provided in the Benedictine Center on the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Campus.

Mental Health services include individual, couples and family counseling, 24-hour QMHP services, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, school consultations, and employee assistance programs (EAP). Alcohol and Drug Program treatment approach is based on the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and reality therapy. Services offered include individual counseling, chemical assessments, DUI education program, outpatient treatment, prevention education program, and a relapse prevention group. Case Management and IMPACT Programs, designed to help clients with severe and persistent mental illness, services include case management and continued care, medication management with psychiatrist, crisis intervention assistance, and psychiatric rehabilitation which seeks to provide program services that assist clients in developing skills and manage resources needed to allow them to be successful in the community. A client centered, client directed form of treatment, the program consists of services designed to restore the disabled person to a level of functioning which permits a useful, meaningful life.
