Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal Police covers the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Tribal Lands.

Services include SAFE program, public speaking to various community organizations, enforces federal, state, county, and municipal laws and ordinances, responds to and investigates traffic accidents, and administers first responder assistance.

Promotes responsible pet ownership and animal protection through active enforcement of ordinances such as leash laws, mandatory licensing/vaccination of pets, impoundment of strays, etc. Services include animal bite investigations, rabies control activities, other zoonotic disease situations and problems, prevention and control of wildlife damage, wildlife disease and nuisance concerns, Animal Control does not handle pest control such as bees, wasps, etc., and emergency services are provided 24 hour a day / 365 days a year. All animals picked up within the city are housed at the Humane Society.

Responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Rapid City. Programing includes a Citizen's Academy and the Quality of Life Unit (housed in Care Campus). Also, provides fingerprinting services for residents of Pennington County (unless it is a pistol permit; that is done at the Sheriff's Office).

Prevent crime, enforce the law, and support public safety by providing registration of offenders and victim notification, licensing pets and bicycles, enforcing adolescent curfews, Crime Stoppers line, Year-round drug take-back site, and offers gun locks.

Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety provides Police and Dispatch services to the people on the Pine Ridge Tribal Lands.

Responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Brandon. Sioux Falls Metro (911) dispatches for Brandon. Strives to increase safety and reduce crime. Offers year-round prescription drug take-back sites that are available on site. Members of the public may drop off any unused prescription or nonprescription drugs as well as any "sharps," such as needles or epi-pens. Participates in the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program - a partnership between law enforcement, managers, and tenants to help keep drug and criminal activity out of rental properties. Maintains minimum standards for tenants and managers to participate in the program. Processes Peddler's License applications.

Provides answers to general police related questions, bicycle permits, filing police reports, locating towed cars and sex offender registration. Also serves as a point of contact for community resource officers, citizen's police academy, new immigrant citizen education, and neighborhood watch.

The Lennox Police Department is responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Lennox.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is here to assist in helping all citizens and with due diligence protect them from being victims of criminal activity and listen to any problems they may have and direct them to whatever group or entity that can help with there problem. The Marshall County 911/ Sheriff's office receives all emergency calls within the confines of Marshall County which include the communities of Britton, Eden, Lake City, Langford and Veblen. The County Sheriff is also the contact for mental health holds, burning bans, county jails/correctional facilities and fingerprinting (call for specifics).

911 emergency operators, adult detention, juvenile detention, and law enforcement services with jurisdiction within the exterior boundaries of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

The Hot Springs Police Department is responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Hot Springs.

Programs include Crime Stoppers: Crime reporting time line, DARE: Drug Abuse Resistance Education, Drug take back: prescription drug drop off box in the lobby of city hall, Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety: education program in the public schools, Safety City: Teaches vehicle and pedestrian safety to children, School Resource Officer: liaison between law enforcement and the youth in the community, Citizens Police Academy, and CodeRed emergency notification system.

The Sioux Falls Police Department is responsible for protecting and serving the citizens of Sioux Falls, programs include Citizen's Academy. Safe Exchange Zone: A monitored parking area and lobby space at the Law Enforcement Center that is available to safely complete child custody transfers or online sales, parking area is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

The Sturgis Police Department is responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Sturgis.

Responsible for serving and protecting the citizens of Whitewood. The Whitewood Police Department includes Law Enforcement Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Accident Investigations, City Ordinance Enforcement, DARE Program, Community Policing, and Several Community Programs.

The City of Freeman is run by a 6-member city council & mayor, with meetings typically scheduled on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Standing Rock Agency: formerly known and established in 1868 as Grand River Agency on the banks of the Grand River (South Dakota) and relocated upstream in 1874 and renamed Standing Rock Agency (Ft. Yates, North Dakota), is the Field Office for the Bureau of Indian Affairs providing Trust Services and Indian Services to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
