From birth to their first day of school and beyond, Avera's Family Life Educators are available to help every step of the way. Offers a variety of training opportunities for parents, babysitters, and child care centers/providers. Training and classes include personalized Childcare Provider Training, Babysitting Classes for Tweens aged 10-13, and Home Alone Class for children ages 9-13. The Temperament Project can help better understand a child and can help choose appropriate techniques that fit a child's unique approach to life. Completing a Temperament Profile will give an individualized graph containing details of the child's characteristics in each of the 9 Temperament Traits. Provides ongoing training and technical assistance to adults who are involved in day-to-day care of young children and offers services to support parents, child care providers, teachers and others involved in early care and education of children birth -12 years of age. Services include: Face-to-face and online early childhood education on issues such as child development, age appropriate activities, effective guidance, program management, and CPR/First Aid certification. Resource lending libraries with information on social emotional observations, recommendations and guidance for children using difficult behaviors. Host site for the South Dakota Child Safety Seat Program Coordinates the Starting Strong Preschool scholarship program, the Responsive Parenting class, Child Development Associate credentialing and other programs.

Provides occupational and speech therapy services to children of all ages who have developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, speech and language delays, or difficulties with emotional regulation. Therapists provide mobile services to support children in their natural environments (home or daycare settings) as well as at the clinic location. The team also partners with early childhood educators to provide staff training and developmental screenings to support early identification and intervention.
