18-bed critical access hospital provides 24-hour emergency service, inpatient and outpatient care, ambulance service, home health care, laboratory services, physical therapy, and medication disposal.

Mobile Medics are available to provide patients with wound care, assess vital signs and blood sugar levels, and arrange transportation for essential needs. Community Health Workers (CHWs) act as a case navigator for patients seeking help with addiction. Provides treatment needs and an assessment for alcohol and substance use disorders.

Moody County Emergency Medical Services provides a 24-hour Advanced Life Support Ambulance for all Moody County residents and visitors to the County. MCEMS provides stand-by services for fires, athletic events, and other community functions. The ambulance team can also provide CPR/First Aid Training, car seat checks, and other community education.

Brookings Hospital is a licensed 49-bed hospital. Services include same day surgery/operating room, emergency room, inpatient care, obstetrics, and ancillary services - radiology, rehab/therapy, and laboratory. Full service hospital that provides both inpatient and outpatient care.

The Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department serves and protects the community of Sturgis as well as a 580 square-mile area of Meade and Lawrence Counties.
