Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: For children ages 5 - 11 and their birth, foster, or adoptive parents. While the parents or parenting team is involved in education, supportive discussion and training, the children will gather in a separate group to work on developmental and behavioral issues. - Mental Health First Aid Trainings: Offered periodically. Services offered include care for heart conditions, complex wound care, diabetes education and assessment, disease and symptom management, education on a newly diagnosed medical condition, home health aide, home infusion therapy education, home safety education, medication education, occupational therapy, pain management, pediatric care, physical therapy, postsurgical care, skilled nursing, speech therapy, and rehabilitation therapy while recovering from an orthopedic condition or hospital stay. They are most appropriate for individuals recently discharged from the hospital and are not fully recovered such as after surgery or new diagnosis, individuals recently diagnosed with an illness and needing education, and individuals who have a chronic condition that needs frequent clinical assessment such as diabetes, kidney, stroke, heart or lung disease.

The 1:1 Peer Support Program pairs up a peer visitor with a participant who might need help adjusting to their disability, support and encouragement, resources, and more. Volunteer position that requires a bit of training, and the only qualification is that you must have a disability. This can be a physical disability, cognitive disability, mental health diagnosis, and more.

The ALS Association seeks to discover the cause and cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) through dedicated research while providing patient support, information/education for health care professionals and the general public, and advocacy for ALS research and health care concerns.

The Tourette Association is dedicated to making life better for all people affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders. Goals and objectives include raising public awareness and fostering social acceptance, working to advance scientific understanding, treatment options and care, educating professionals to better serve the needs of children, adults and families challenged by Tourette and Tic Disorders, advocating for public policies and services that promote positive school, work and social environments, providing help, hope and a supportive community across the nation, and empowering our community to deal with the complexities of this spectrum of disorders.

The Health Cooperative is here to partner with patients to stay healthy and meet their health goals. An inter-professional team is available to offer early evaluations of adult health concerns. Also provides personalized self-care education that will assist patients in making healthier choices. This is not a replacement for a primary care doctor. Works alongside patients and their doctors to improve patient health. Team consists of registered nurses, a pharmacist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist and a dietitian.

The Ryan White Part B CARE Program provides services to HIV positive individuals who reside in the State of South Dakota. Services include the Aids Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), assistance with health care costs, assistance with insurance enrollment and premium payments, and one on one case management/counseling services for individuals who are HIV positive. The HIV prevention Program is for anyone residing in the State of South Dakota who has concerns about HIV/STD's. Services include information on health care providers and HIV testing services, one-on-one counseling for HIV/STD concerns, free condom distribution, and free information regarding HIV and STD's.

Provides technical assistance, training, and resources to families and service providers of children aged birth to 21 with varying levels of both hearing and vision loss. Services are geared toward improving educational outcomes in order to help prepare them for eventual transition into adulthood. Technical assistance and support services include: understanding vision and hearing loss, developing communication skills, using accommodations and technology, assisting with the development of educational plans and meaningful strategies, daily living skills, and transitioning across life stages. Information and resources include guides and handbooks, links to state and national resources, Wegner library resources, and deaf-blind topic pages.

A 24-hour source of support and information to cancer patients and their families. Reasons for calling the Navigation Center can range from managing symptoms, to finding resources for emotional support, to getting help for loved ones impacted by cancer. Anyone can call the Navigation Center - they do not need to be an Avera patient. Calls are answered by registered nurses and social workers. The Avera Cancer Institute has a registered dietician that can assist cancer patients with eating problems and related nutritional concerns, and offers several cancer support groups (in the Sioux Empire area) including A Time To Heal for All Cancers, Cancer Caregiver Support Group, Look Good, Feel Better, Men's Cancer Support Group, and To Be Well.

The Healthy Living program consists of adult activities, group fitness, personal training, and a wellness center. They include: Rails Strength & Fitness - constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity, Group Fitness - more than 100 classes a week that are included in membership including specialty fitness classes, InBody Consultation - Body composition assessments for those ages 12+, Personal Training - staff can create a personalized training and nutrition regimen, Wellness Center - cardio equipment and weight equipment, and Lap and Open swim pool schedule/Swim lessons.

Current Training Programs include Seizure First Aid Certification, Law Enforcement Training, Seizure Training for School Nurses, and Seizure Training for School Personnel.

Comprehensive cancer treatment services including evaluation and diagnosis followed by treatment for cancer if needed. Chemotherapy is delivered in private infusion suites and radiation therapy is done in a state of the art linear accelerator. An onsite medical oncologist and radiation oncologist lead a highly skilled team to develop a treatment plan.

The goal of the Turner Syndrome Foundation (TSF) is to support research initiatives and develop educational programs to increase professional awareness and enhance medical care of those affected by Turner Syndrome.
