They must also have one of the following cancer diagnoses: oral, pharynx, larynx, salivary gland, nasal or sinus cavity, thyroid or upper third of esophagus. Brain cancer and esophagus cancers of the GI junction do not qualify. Assistance includes: prescriptions, nutritional supplements, equipment, lodging away from home, copays for CT and PET scans, and pre-radiation dental clearance. Expenses that are not directly related to treatment and recovery, such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities or other basic need, are not eligible for this program.
