Finds homes for animals in need in the Brookings Community. Services include animal adoption, pet food and litter bank, microchip services, and community education and involvement. All animals receive necessary medical care, spay/neuter, and vaccinations prior to adoption.

Rescues dogs and cats; pays all the expenses while they are in foster care until an adoptive home can be found. Has a pet food bank where dog or cat food can be supplied to benefit veterans, disabled, and low-income owners. Also has a spay and neuter program to benefit veterans, disabled, and low-income owners.

Offers many activities including: line dancing, exercise classes and fitness room, billiards, Wii bowling, card games, table tennis, SHIINE Medicare Part D assistance, pet food assistance, weekly blood pressure checks, nutrition program providing commodity, meals on wheels, and meals at The Center. ​Bingo is offered from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, Tuesday and Friday evenings.
