Mentoring Program | TeamMates Mentoring of South Dakota
TeamMates is a school-based, one-to-one mentoring program that matches adult volunteers with students who have indicated interest in having a mentor. The focus of the mentoring relationship is for a mentor to build a positive relationship with a student as a caring adult figure to help them reach their full potential.
Volunteer mentors focus on the positives in students to help them succeed. Students in TeamMates reflect improvement in attendance, behavior referrals, and academic performance.

Provides three pillars of service:

Weekly small group opportunities for men and women in the Codington County Detention Center, as well as at downtown office location
- Transit support
Downtown office space allows for sober social opportunities to build healthy community
- Wellness center passes to support a healthy lifestyle
Sober living homes; up to 4 women can live in the women's home at a time and up to 3 men can live in the men's home at a time, rent free with case management services to help individuals move toward financial stability, employment, and permanent housing

Accomplished through strengthening communication, life skill and team building, strengthening the entire family using community resources, hope and inspiration, and relationships with caring adult mentors.

Community Mentoring Program | Lutheran Social Services - Southeast Region
Climb matches volunteer mentors with children ages 7 to 14 and meet in the community. Matches are supported by an Lutheran Social Services (LSS) case manager who works to ensure a successful experience for all. Children can start meeting with a Climb mentor after they turn 7 years old, and must be under the age of 14 to enroll as a new participant. Established matches can continue to meet after the child turns 14. Climb matches meet for 4 hours per month in the community. To help with this, LSS provides an activity card that offers discounts to program participants and hosts monthly events that all matches are invited to attend.

STEPS: Provides outreach and transportation for youth who need help removing barriers to housing, education, self-care, and community connections. This program also serves youth who are considered houseless (which could mean frequent runaway, couch surfing with friends or family, unaccompanied youth, living in hotels or in shelters).
Safe Passage: Provides safety for youth as they travel to and from school through a trusted adult presence designed to be there for the youth and their families. The program helps identify any barriers each family faces to get their children to school, after-school programs, events, and partner programs in a timely and safe manner. Safe Passage allows the development of relationships with youth and their parents, intervenes in and mediates potential conflicts, and connects youth and their support systems to needed resources.
High Risk Intervention (HRI): Program focuses on redirecting youth with a history of engaging in violent or gang-related behaviors into more positive youth-related activities.

The CWOY Support Navigator program is designed to provide support for American Indian youth, adults, and their families in the He Sapa area who struggle with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. CWOY Support Navigators act as mentors, advocates, and resource guides for American Indian youth, adults, and families needing support for their healing and personal growth.

Uplifting Parents Program | Catholic Social Services
Program for single parents working toward a college degree. People in the program receive up to $4,800.00 in funding, and are also matched with a mentor to help support them toward their goals. 73% of the parents who participate in our program make it to graduation. To qualify, must be a single parent within two years of obtaining a college degree.

Boys' Health Program | Youth & Family Services
Boys' Health Program is offered to those who may be at risk of developing physical, mental, or social health problems. Boys are referred to the program by school counselors, teachers, parents, health service providers, and social services agencies. Once enrolled, boys work closely with advocates to set and attain individualized goals. This program provides health-focused case management, education, advocacy, and prevention services. The Boys' Health Program helps lay the groundwork for lifestyle habits and attitudes that will strongly influence boys' health and behaviors as adults.

A one-to-one mentoring program that supports Mitchell area families by providing youth with a caring adult who helps them navigate life. Volunteer mentors are matched with a mentee based on similar interests and personalities.
BFLF has 3 different mentoring programs:
Community-Based Mentoring: The volunteer mentor and their mentee meet in the evenings or weekends. Mentoring occurs for at least one hour per week for one year.
School-Based Mentoring: The volunteer mentor and child meet at the child's elementary school during the school day for mentoring. Mentoring occurs for at least one hour per week for one school year.
Mentor Mom: The Young Mom and Mentor Mom meet for mentoring at least one hour each week for a year.

Program designed to improve quality of life activities for older adults. Trained volunteers will be matched with an older adult based on similar interests and schedule. Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Black Hills | Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Black Hills
Serves young people (Littles) from age 5 - young adulthood in one-to-one mentoring friendships with volunteer mentors (Bigs). Bigs and Littles hang out for 4 hours a month (scheduled on their own time) doing normal, everyday activities, like seeing a movie, doing homework, playing games, going out to eat, or just hanging out! Each match is supported by a dedicated Match Support Specialist who is always there to provide resources and support specific to the Little's age. With a Big in their life, Littles in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program are empowered to ignite their potential as they grow in their self-esteem, earn better grades, and develop a lifelong friendship with their Big.
