Manages the City of Mitchell Urban Forest, and provides and maintains sports fields and facilities, and also provides recreational programming for all ages and abilities. The Parks and Recreation department manages the Mitchell Recreation Center and Indoor Aquatic Center, that provides fitness and recreational opportunities to the public as well as the outdoor aquatic center. The Parks and Recreation department also manages Lakeview Municipal Golf Course, an 18-hole municipal facility.

Golf Club, Hiking Club, Kazukes, Knitting, Line Dancing, Lifelong Learning Education Opportunities, Color Me Happy Club, Computer Classes, Photography Club, Pickleball, Quilting Club, Scrabble Club, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis, Trips and Travel, Walking Club, Woodcarving Club, Genealogy Club, and Special Events. *Some programs require user fees some are free. Members receive a monthly Lifetimes Newspaper that provides all information regarding classes and events.
