Topics of discussion include: the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse, overcoming gender roles and stereotypes, characteristics of healthy relationships, safe communication, building a support system, and healing from abuse.
This is a closed group, registration is required by contacting the group facilitator. There is no cost to attend.

Provides support groups for survivors of domestic violence. Support groups include Hands are Not for Hitting and Pattern Changing Group.
Hands are Not for Hitting is for children aged 6 - 12 years who have been victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault. The focus of the group is to help child victims of violence solve problems nonviolently and learn to identify and express their feelings in a healthy way. Children learn that the abuse is not their fault and they have their feelings validated.
Pattern Changing Group is designed to help women who have been in abusive relationships gain confidence in themselves and learn to live healthy and abusive free lives. Child care is available for those attending group.

Provides shelter for all suffering from domestic violence and/or sexual assault, and their families. In addition to shelter and food, services include: personal and rape advocacy, support groups, legal advocacy and referrals to other service agencies. The Women's Lodge can hold up to 18 adults and children before anyone has to sleep on the floor. Staff can also make arrangements if at full capacity or for other reasons if need be. Two-thirds of residents are usually children since most bring their children with them to protect them from the abuser's violence.
