Veteran support groups are available at both Vet Centers in Rapid City and Sioux Falls. Groups include a men's Vietnam support group, women's support group, garden group, and Project Healing Waters group. Also offers a combat and military sexual trauma support group and a service building spiritual strength group. Groups are subject to change throughout the year. Must be enrolled at the Vet Center to participate.

Provides support groups for survivors of domestic violence. ​Support groups include Hands are Not for Hitting and Pattern Changing Group. Hands are Not for Hitting is for children aged 6 - 12 years who have been victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault. The focus of the group is to help child victims of violence solve problems nonviolently and learn to identify and express their feelings in a healthy way. Children learn that the abuse is not their fault and they have their feelings validated. Pattern Changing Group is designed to help women who have been in abusive relationships gain confidence in themselves and learn to live healthy and abusive free lives. Child care is available for those attending group.

WAVI holds weekly In-shelter support groups for survivors of sexual assaults and domestic violence.

Provides support for men who have endured abuse within their relationships. It is an 8-week group that provides support for male victims and survivors of domestic violence. The group includes educational information, as well as open discussion about personal experiences. Topics of discussion include: the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse, overcoming gender roles and stereotypes, characteristics of healthy relationships, safe communication, building a support system, and healing from abuse. This is a closed group, registration is required by contacting the group facilitator. There is no cost to attend.

Emergency shelter and advocacy to battered women and their children as well as victims of sexual assault and human trafficking. Off-site advocacy available for male victims. CISS provides a 24-hour crisis line, financial assistance (when funds are available), counseling, referrals, legal aid (when funds are available), assistance with protection orders and Crime Victims Compensation program.

Provides confidential service to all individuals who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault, including 24-hour crisis line, support groups, support in court, assistance with restraining orders and orders for protection, community education, including: in-services and workshops on domestic violence to any group, information and referrals, and assistance with legal, medical, social, and other services such as advocacy, safe shelter, transportation, food, and clothing.

Provides shelter for all suffering from domestic violence and/or sexual assault, and their families. In addition to shelter and food, services include: personal and rape advocacy, support groups, legal advocacy and referrals to other service agencies. The Women's Lodge can hold up to 18 adults and children before anyone has to sleep on the floor. Staff can also make arrangements if at full capacity or for other reasons if need be. Two-thirds of residents are usually children since most bring their children with them to protect them from the abuser's violence.

These groups seek to provide support and feedback to women who have been emotionally, sexually, or physically abused in their relationships. Topics of discussion include: the dynamics of domestic violence, crisis issues caused by domestic violence, the impact of traumatic experiences on daily living, staying safe, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.The women's support groups are open and may be joined by anyone at any time. No pre-registration is required to attend and groups are offered free of charge.

Assisting survivors of sexual, relational, and family trauma through the healing process, by serving survivors of all genders, beginning at age 3. Services include: individual or group therapy for children, teens, and adults, with a licensed therapist or graduate-level therapy intern under supervision of a licensed therapist (includes brainspotting) counseling services for caregivers of children or other secondary survivors of those affected by sexual, relational, and/or family trauma parent-child interaction therapy, a therapy for non-offending caregiver and child play therapy for children ages 3-12 who are primary or secondary survivors of sexual, relational, and family trauma crisis counseling - walk-in therapeutic support that provides stabilization through coping skills and resource identification

Safe Harbor assists victims of violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, elder abuse, human trafficking and stalking through shelter for victims (male victims housed in separate facility), crisis line, support groups, mobile rape / assault task force, information about community resources, community and public education, protection order assistance, and Kids Konnection Visitation and Exchange Center.

Survivors of Incest Anonymous (SIA) is a 12-step, self-help program modeled after Alcoholics Anonymous for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Printed literature is available, quarterly bulletins which can be sent free automatically to an email address, speakers, and self-help support groups. 24-hour emergency shelter for women and children that provides crisis services for rape victims, child abuse victims and their non-offending family members, family members of homicide victims, adults molested as children, and victims of elder abuse. Services include accompany victims to hospital and through systems, transportation, advocacy, including criminal justice and court, emergency clothing and other supplies, assistance with protection orders, weekly women's support groups, crisis counseling, referrals and information, and assistance in filing for victim compensation.

Services provided are Outreach Advocacy, 24-Hour Crisis Line, Women's Support Group, Women's Re-education, Men's Re-education, Emergency items, Respond to emergency 911 calls with public safety or at the hospital, and Protection Orders.
