LGBTQ+ Advocacy and Support | Black Hills Center For Equality

Provides resources, education networking, and events for the LGBTQ+ community. ​Some events include Black Hills Pride Festival, Black Hills Youth Pride, Transgender Day of Remembrance events, Drag Shows, Pride Prom, Transgender Day of Visibility events, Rainbow 5k Color Run, Closet Pop-Ups, and Halloween parties. Also have support groups and volunteer opportunities.

Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy | Transformation Project, The

Provides a supportive and affirming environment to address LGBTQ-related stress, depression, and anxiety. Participants engage in sessions to learn coping strategies, build emotional resilience, and connect with peers. The program is hybrid, offering both in-person and virtual options, and is facilitated by trained professionals. A screening process ensures participants are a good fit, with an emphasis on readiness and safety. Sessions focus on topics such as mindfulness, cognitive flexibility, and emotional regulation, fostering a pathway to mental wellness.

LGBTQ Support Group | Childrens Home Shelter for Family Safety

Support for LGBTQ individuals who have endured abuse in their relationships. An 8-sessions support group for victims and survivors of domestic violence, with meetings held weekly. All adults with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations are welcome. Educational information is provided, as well as open discussion about personal experiences. This is a closed group, so registration is required by contacting the group facilitator. There is no cost to attend.  Discussion topics: Issues specific to LGBTQ individuals, overcoming gender roles and stereotypes, dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse, characteristics of health vs. unhealthy relationships, safe communication, building a support system, and healing from abuse.

LGBTQ+ Support Group | Watertown Love

LGBTQ+ youth, adults and allies provides support to anyone who may need it. Once a month get togethers are held to help have a sense of community. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate. Watertown Love has an active Facebook page to share information and continue to have the community outside of meetings. Also organizes Watertown Pride in the Park.

Safe Space Events | Rainbow Project Sioux Falls

Provides community based programming that supports LGBTQ2S+ youth, and other marginalized groups. Services include safe space events, peer connection opportunities, wellness activities, and educational workshops designed to foster inclusion, reduce isolation, and support identity development.

Gender-Diverse Services | Transformation Project, The

Offering support, education, advocacy and resources for transgender/gender-diverse youth, their parents, and transgender/gender-diverse young adults up through age 35. Community Health Worker helps to advocate for the gender-diverse community. Services are available online and in-person.
