The PATH (Providing Access to Healing) Program provides school-based mental health counseling services in a partnership between LSS, local school districts, and the Sioux Empire United Way. PATH provides confidential, individual counseling sessions at the school for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Counseling sessions are held in a private room on-site at the school during regular school hours. Every effort is made to have as minimal impact as possible on the students daily routine. Counselors use accepted therapy practices that are appropriate for the student's age and challenges. A counseling session could include talking, art, games, movement, toys, or music as therapy tools. More than 40 schools in Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Canton, Brandon Valley, Garretson, Dell Rapids, Baltic, Tea Area, Sioux Falls Catholic, West Central, and Tri-Valley are involved. Individual school participation varies.

Provides outpatient mental health services to those 12 and up. Works with a variety of disorders/concerns: anxiety, mood disorders, depressive disorders, trauma related disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, crisis intervention, and/or marital/family distress. Offers a variety of therapeutic methods to meet client's where they are and assist in helping them reach their goals.

Providing mental health and addiction recovery services (including dual diagnosis) to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Services include: mental health/addiction evaluations, screenings and treatment services for addiction, adjustment disorders, anger management, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), Asperger's Syndrome, behavior problems, conduct concerns, depression, grief, mood disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), parent-child conflicts, post-traumatic stress, school refusal, separation and divorce, family issues, social skills training and stress management. South Dakota court approved treatment provider and provides court approved alcohol and drug assessments/evaluations and screenings including Individual 1st Offender DUI Education, Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) and Aftercare. Offering Employee Assistance Program (EAP); Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); Behavior Modification; Clinical Supervision; Reunification Therapy; Psychological Evaluations/Screenings; Parenting Coordination, Play Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, Substance Use Prevention, Assessments for Substance Use Disorders, Psychological Assessments, Fit for Duty Evaluations and First Responder Counseling. Aims to assist clients in recovery maintenance. Recovery Support services includes formal aftercare programs, wellbriety, traditional pathways, and talking circles. Clients may have had their primary treatment experience within Anpetu Luta Otipi or they may arrive to the program in order to solely take advantage of formal and informal recovery support services. Recovery Support programs build on the progress achieved in primary treatment assisting the client to maintain a commitment to sobriety by encouraging a continuous self and environmental reflection. Recovery Support programs help the client continue to develop their problem solving skills and individual and family healing.

Psychiatric Services include assessments and medication management. CARE - Continuous Assistance, Rehabilitation, and Education services for adults with severe mental illness.

The Native Healing Program utilizes the traditional Native American life ways as a method of healing the spirit. Children's services include case management and a home-based program that provides a wide range of therapeutic support. Early childhood mental health services are also available including play therapy. Areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, grief, parenting challenges, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), stress management, and issues related to trauma or abuse.

Therapeutic interventions include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family therapy, solution focused brief therapy, Adlerian therapy, Gestalt techniques, Gottman Method, couples therapy, guided imagery, pain management, anger management, and more. A full continuum of mental health and treatment for substance use disorders. Services include assessments, individual and family counseling, intensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment for pregnant and parenting women who face substance use disorders, transitional care and aftercare counseling for adults and adolescents, trauma-focused treatment for children/adolescents and their families impacted by traumatic events. This can address a multitude of circumstances including COVID-related trauma, physical/ /sexual/emotional abuse, witness of violence, household incarceration, family substance abuse, mental illness, parent separation or divorce, medical, grief or refugee trauma, and bullying, neglect, disasters and more. ​Also offers MRT (Moral Recognition Therapy), CBISA (Cognitive Behavioral Intervention Substance Abuse), and Telehealth services.

CHOICES Residential Services program serves adolescents and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral/emotional or psychiatric disorders. Components of the program include residential services, independent living training, educational services, and therapeutic and psychiatric services (individual and group therapy).

Provides individual, couples, and family counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, addictions, suicidal thoughts, gender/sexuality and more. Telehealth services are available. Therapist is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained.

The Counseling Center offers the following services (all services based on eligibility and priority needs): Substance abuse services include screening, intake, evaluation, referrals, aftercare, primary prevention programs, education, MRT/SBISA classes, and group counseling. ​Mental health services include couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, Education, Referrals, and Psychological evaluations and services.

Telehealth counseling with flexible scheduling including shortened or extended session times. Counseling services include Individual Counseling, Parent Counseling, Grief/Bereavement Counseling, Family Counseling, Hoarding Counseling, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Informed Therapy. Will be offering group services in the near future.
