Wakpá Wasté Counseling Services: Mental Wellness and Addiction Services | Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe

Outpatient program services for substance use and mental health (including co-occurring issues). Incorporates Lakota cultural traditional health along with mainstream modalities. These include crisis intervention, individual, family, and couples therapy, outpatient groups for both mental health and substance use issues, community prevention, discharge and aftercare planning, Referrals for involuntary and emergency services, psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, Medication Management, inpatient treatment referrals for substance use and mental health counseling (including co-occurring issues), Integrated Care Case Management, anger management group, art therapy group for youth and adults, and recovery coaching - please call for more information. Also includes a Transitional Living Center for pre-treatment (before treatment) and aftercare services provided 24/7. Co-ed facility.

Certified Interventionist by ARISE providing interventions. The goal is to urge the addicted or impaired person and family to accept help and get on a path to recovery. It is designed to help a loved one recognize and change self-destructive thoughts, feelings or behaviors. The intent is to confront the person in a non-threatening way. Also includes sober coaching, sober transportation, continuum of care, and public speaking.

Offers mental health and substance use services as well as both family and individual case management services which include comprehensive child/adolescent/family services, comprehensive adult/family services, adult/adolescent/family substance abuse services, and outpatient psychiatric medical services. ​Walk-in assessments available during regular business hours and emergency mental health crisis support services available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
