Wylie Park and Storybook Land is one of the primer parks in the region. It includes 2 campgrounds, Miniature golf, go-karts, picnic facilities and bike and skate rentals. At Storybook Land families enjoy a world of imagination inspired by nursery rhymes and featuring the Land of Oz. Also enjoy a ride on the Train, Carousel, Balloon Ride and Roller Coaster.
The Recreation Division provides recreational activities year round for all ages including youth ball leagues, youth & adult tennis lessons and leagues, skating lessons, open gyms, recreational skating, cross country ski lessons, and adult basketball and volleyball leagues. Many special events are offered including Family Fun Weekend, Tennis Tournaments, Storybook Land Festival, Winterfest and Holiday Celebration just to name a few. The YAPAtorium Teen Center provides many activities for teens.

NeSoDak specializes in summer youth programs, including 1-2-3 camps (two nights) for elementary youth, half-week and week-long camps for middle school through junior high youth, Servant Journey and adventures camps.

Klein Ranch is a unique camp that offers youth the opportunity to begin to stretch their boundaries, and abilities, as they ride horses on 2,300 acres of Wild West ranch country. Campers can spend a week exploring the prairie on horseback and participating in other activities, such as hiking the mini badlands, having an overnight campout, playing games and more. Through the camp's small group community, youth strengthen their identity and gain depth in their faith. At Klein Ranch, youth also develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and for others as they care for the animals at the camp.

Located amongst granite outcroppings in the southern Black Hills, Outlaw Ranch is open year round, offering summer youth camps, family camp, year round retreats for youth and adults, as well as hosting business gatherings and family reunions. Huron Community Campus is a partnership campus designed and implemented to replace the lost opportunity of post secondary education with the closing of Si Tanka/Huron University in 2005. This educational model is defined as a physical location where two or more institutions collaborate to deliver academic programs and student services. Huron Community Campus is directed by a board appointed by the Mayor and City Commission.

People with disabilities and those with challenging life circumstances can come to Joy Ranch to enjoy nature and participate in horse related activities and other experiences. Joy Ranch is a barrier free and stairway free environment that everyone can access.
The general public is welcome to go horseback riding/take lessons, visit an 1880's town, reserve rooms for wedding ceremony/reception and corporate events, stay in a themed hotel room, and take part in meals offered.

Opportunities include extended stay artist residencies for creatives in all media, space for organizational group meetings, workshops, social events, seasonal arts and nature excursions, small concerts or theatrical experiences in Main Hall or outside, recital and exhibit space in A-frame, host for photography groups, literary events, etc., and also available for groups like family reunions, weddings, and country excursions.
