The Finance Office houses the following City of Selby departments: Finance (responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of the city, budget development and monitoring, accounting services, cash and asset management, payroll, contract administration, panning and zoning, grants management and financial reporting, city council agendas, long range planning for the City, and special use permits), Parks and Recreation (maintains parks, sports fields, and facilities, provides recreational programming, and manages the Recreation and Aquatics centers, Utilities (public utilities, water, sewer, and garbage collection), and Public Works (streets and sanitation, snow removal, sanitary sewer services, and storm water).

Responsible for street repair, street cleaning, snow removal, information about emergency snow routes, water service requests, sewer line maintenance and repair, and water quality.

City Administrator - is the funnel for information between the City Council, City Staff, and State and Federal agencies. The City Administrator assists in the preparation of the annual City budget, recommends policy directions to the City Council, oversees long range planning, directing the activities of city departments and carries out all other duties as prescribed. Together, they review permits and make recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Parks and Recreation include a swimming pool that is open during the summer months. This Division handles the complaints relating to minimum property maintenance standards including dilapidated housing conditions/property maintenance. - During the Spring and Summer, complaints or reports regarding grass/weeds exceeding 8, noxious weeds, or violations of the parking strip landscaping ordinance. City of Sioux Falls App is an app that offers the public the ability to request service for numerous needs. Users can upload a photo from their mobile device and attach GPS coordinates with their submission along with a brief message. A City employee will reach out when the issue is scheduled for repair and/or has been resolved. Community is also built into the app as neighbors can see issues submitted by other users in their neighborhood. The app is available for free for Apple and Android devices. Code Enforcement works to improve the appearance and safety of Sioux Falls by assuring compliance with city ordinances.
