The Public Works Department is responsible for collecting garbage, maintenance and repair of the water, sewer, and street system for the City of New Underwood along with all city owned equipment and properties.

Made up of 5 divisions that collectively maintain the City infrastructure, parks, and vehicles: The Street Division maintains paved and gravel roads, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and stormwater systems, sign and signal infrastructure, and snow plowing schedules and maps. City of Sioux Falls App is an app that offers the public the ability to request service for numerous needs. Users can upload a photo from their mobile device and attach GPS coordinates with their submission along with a brief message. A City employee will reach out when the issue is scheduled for repair and/or has been resolved. Oversees the following divisions of the City of Yankton: Traffic Control, Streets, Engineering and the Airport. Constructs and maintains surface transportation systems that support economic viability, promotes safe travel, and add esthetically to the community. These divisions are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of streets and traffic control measures as well as maintaining the Precision Approach Path Indicator system for the Chan Gurney Airport. The Engineering Department is responsible for the design, review, and managing infrastructure projects, review and approve plats and subdivision, planning and zoning, development and revision of City maps, and flood plain boundaries.

The Crooks Planning and Zoning Commission oversees the Building Services department for the City of Crooks. Services include zoning, conditional uses, variances, rezoning, building permits, and more.

Distributes public power through defined service territories in the City of Sioux Falls to over 2,900 customers and also maintains over 23,000 street lights in Sioux Falls. Payments after hours can be dropped off at the drop box located outside of City Hall at 224 W. 9th Street. (DO NOT PLACE CASH IN DROP BOX).

The Lead Street Department is responsible for maintaining over 25 miles of city streets. The Street department cleans, repairs, replaces, and removes snow on all of the streets in Lead.
