Public Works Department | City of Sturgis

The Public Works Department consists of several entities such as: Streets and Buildings: snow removal, street sweeping, street lighting, traffic control devices, GIS, city building and equipment maintenance Wastewater: wastewater treatment, storm water drainage, irrigation, and sewer line maintenance Sanitation: residential and commercial garbage service, restricted use rubble site, recycling program, curbside pick up service Special events: city-wide clean up, traffic control, and engineering and contract administration for capital and public improvements Rubble Site: See the Authorized Solid Waste page for information about what items can be taken to the Rubble Site. Many items can be taken to the Rubble Site free of charge (within a standard pickup truck-sized load) with a copy of a current Sturgis utility bill (see the Sanitation Policy for information); including batteries, tires (for a fee), leaves, branches, Christmas trees, etc. Please refer to the Fee Schedule for more details and pricing. The City of Sturgis Rubble Site is classified as restricted use. Certain items may not be accepted at a restricted-use rubble site. Please see the Unauthorized Solid Waste page for more details.

Public Works & Engineering Division | City of Aberdeen

Oversees the following divisions of the City of Aberdeen: Street Maintenance, Solid Waste, Traffic Control, Utilities, the Water Treatment Plant, and the Water Reclamation Facility. These divisions are responsible for the maintenance and improvement of roads and alleys, snow removal, solid waste collection, contracted recycling, traffic control measures, the maintenance of all water main, sewer main, storm sewer, and drainage ways, treatment and conveyance of drinking water, and the conveyance, treatment, and discharge of waste water.

Public Works Department | City of Rapid City

Purpose: Provides safe, reliable drinking water, wastewater treatment, drainage, solid waste disposal, and transportation systems. - Solid Waste Division Provides for the orderly, efficient and safe collection, recycling and disposal of waste. - Street Division Operates and maintains a 386 mile transportation system. Maintains over 130 miles of storm sewer system. Provides vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair on approximately 600 units for various City departments. Traffic Office | City of Huron

Traffic is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the city's traffic signal system, traffic control signs, and all pavement markings.
