The Street Department strives to maximize the life of the city's transportation facilities and to provide a high quality driving surface on approximately 274 miles of city streets. This is accomplished through a comprehensive maintenance, repair and sweeping program, including timely and efficient snow removal, street de-icing and sanding operations. The maintenance program consists of scheduled annual asphalt overlays, crack sealing and seal coating.

Oversees the maintenance of city roads in Hutchinson County.

Highway Department is responsible for county roads and bridge maintenance. Other responsibilities include road signs, snow removal, and protecting the driving public from flood waters and hazards in the road.

Maintains roadways, city vehicles and equipment. Other responsibilities include assisting with construction of new streets, curbs and gutters, city-wide clean-up, mosquito spraying, and construction of city facilities. Also maintains parks, fields, and all city properties.

This hotline handles concerns/questions/complaints, and problem potholes will be patched up as quickly as possible. The Street Team has been notified and a work order will be generated.

Purpose: Provides safe, reliable drinking water, wastewater treatment, drainage, solid waste disposal, public transit, and transportation systems. - Rapid Transit Division Provides the general public with safe, reliable and affordable public transportation. - Solid Waste Division Provides for the orderly, efficient and safe collection, recycling and disposal of waste. - Street Division Operates and maintains a 386 mile transportation system. The Great Plains Regional office is responsible for the direction and oversight of Bureau responsibilities and activities in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Nebraska. The Office of the Regional Director provides program direction and supervision to 12 Agencies encompassing 16 federally recognized Tribes. Programs includes: tribal government, enrollment, claims, self-determination, housing improvement program, loan guaranty and interest subsidy program, land titles and records office, probate and estate services, real estate services, Indian land consolidation program, Division of Natural Resources, Human services (which includes general assistance, burial assistance, disaster assistance, emergency assistance, adult care assistance, and child assistance), Tribal transportation program, road maintenance, and Division of Environment, Safety, and Cultural Resources Managements.

City of Sioux Falls App is an app that offers the public the ability to request service for numerous needs. Users can upload a photo from their mobile device and attach GPS coordinates with their submission along with a brief message. A City employee will reach out when the issue is scheduled for repair and/or has been resolved. Community is also built into the app as neighbors can see issues submitted by other users in their neighborhood. The app is available for free for Apple and Android devices.
