Veteran's Service Office: Acts as an advocate and provides assistance to military veterans and their dependents in determining eligibility and applying for various federal and state benefits, such as service-connected compensation, non-service connected pension, outpatient and hospital medical treatment, guaranteed home loan certificates, education and on-the-job training benefits, burial benefits, survivor benefits, referral information, as well as many others. Zoning and Planning Services: Establish and enforce zoning regulations which classify land within county, city or other municipal jurisdictions for specific agricultural residential, commercial or industrial uses; and which evaluate, establish rulings upon and hear appeals regarding exceptions to zoning regulations.

Emergency response involving critical infrastructure in Brule County. This does not cover private individuals. Offers a course covering the basics of being a weather spotter. The goal of the course is to provide baseline training for all spotters through multiple modules covering the procedures for spotting (including communication and spotter report criteria) and safety considerations for all hazards. This course is open to the public for ages 12 and up.

The American Red Cross assists individuals and families who have lost their home due to a natural or man made disaster. ​Services include assistance for family fires, tornados, floods, chemical spills, etc., shelter, food, health, and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet. The City of Sioux Falls does not have any community/public storm shelters. Those who do not have basements are advised to plan ahead to find appropriate safe locations. Once a warning has been issued, it is better to shelter in place. Take shelter at the lowest level possible, in the smallest, innermost room.
