The Chamber plays a role in helping make the community a better place to live. A group of local businesses and residents meet throughout the year to demonstrate commitment to building and maintaining a prosperous community, for those who live there, and for those who may visit or pass through Clear Lake. The goal of the CLCC is to promote and advance the economic, social and moral interest of its businesses and community through strong leadership, networking, education and hard work by its members and other vested community residents. ​

It operates in direct partnership with several other agencies, including the City of Vermillion, University of South Dakota, and the nonprofit Missouri Valley Growth, to better grow the economic prosperity of the area and create a positive environment in which to do business. The VCDC publishes a semi-annual newsletter informing community of business trends, area news, and new chamber members. Community Education offers a variety of classes including on-line classes, music, language, computer, physical and emotional health and fitness, home property, hobby, travel, and personal enrichment for adults and youth. Gold Card events are offered during the school year for ages 60+ in this district. Summer camp information is listed in the Community Education Spring Catalog and on Facebook. Driver education classes are offered at each high school for high school age students in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

The Sioux Falls Arts Council facilitates the arts and engages the community to discover the value the of the arts in day-to-day living by helping residents and visitors find, enjoy and participate in the artistic and cultural events available in the community.
