Certified Interventionist by ARISE providing interventions. The goal is to urge the addicted or impaired person and family to accept help and get on a path to recovery. It is designed to help a loved one recognize and change self-destructive thoughts, feelings or behaviors. The intent is to confront the person in a non-threatening way. Also includes sober coaching, sober transportation, continuum of care, and public speaking.

Provides services to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind, and/or have a speech disability. Common Sense Parenting Class: Classes are interactive and include videotaped examples to watch, rather than a lecture format. Topics cover a wide range of mental health issues from alcoholism and the family to stress management. SMILE: Education program for separating and divorcing parents with children under the age of 18, designed to inform parents how to better understand the effects of divorce; assist parents to understand the needs of their children; help parents learn what they can do to create a nurturing and safe environment so their children can recover and feel good about themselves; inform parents how to prevent destructive game playing that is common among divorce; help parents gain problem solving skills. LifeSight provides four primary programs:

• KidsFIRST: provides free vision screenings for pre-school and elementary school children by means of partnerships with area eye care professionals and local volunteers. To schedule a KidsFIRST free vision screening, contact LifeSight at 605-716-6733. Screenings are available for children 6 months of age - 5th grade.
• Gift of Sight: provides sight-saving surgeries to those in our community without the financial means to afford care, helping these individuals regain their vision, and most importantly, independence, mobility and quality of life. This program is available only by referral from an area eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist).

- VisionCARE: provides no-cost eye exams and glasses, critical to one's overall health and wellbeing, to individuals who meet program criteria and have no other option for care, providing a simple but powerful path to helping people see better to live better. • Scholarship Program: Annually awards the LifeSight Dr. Paul L. Zimmerman Memorial Endowed Scholarship to a fourth year student at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine planning to pursue a career in ophthalmology.

CASA recruits, screens, trains and provides guidance and support to volunteers who serve as advocates for abused and neglected children placed into foster care while involved in the court process. Mandatory training is required for all new volunteers. 30 hours of in-person or online training is available bi-monthly. Provides specific training programs to assist the community with violence prevention including: It's Our Business: developed for use in small- to mid-size businesses. Attendees learn how to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault/harassment in the workplace, as well as offering support to coworkers who have experienced violence in their lives. Safe Bars: hospitality staff are trained to spot sexual harassment and appropriate interventions. Little Navigators: trained therapists provide trauma-informed education to childcare facilities, support children in developing their social skills with peers and adults and development of feeling identification and expression, and provide on-site individual and group play-based therapy services.

The Vermillion Area Chamber & Development Company (VCDC) functions as a Chamber of Commerce, office of Economic Development, and Visitor/Tourism Bureau for Vermillion and the surrounding area. It operates in direct partnership with several other agencies, including the City of Vermillion, University of South Dakota, and the nonprofit Missouri Valley Growth, to better grow the economic prosperity of the area and create a positive environment in which to do business. Services include business counseling, member marketing, referrals, networking opportunities, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and much more. Represents members in the Sioux Falls area, focusing on advocating for business, moving the Sioux Falls area forward, training tomorrow's leader, working to enhance quality of life, serving as the voice for business, and certificate of origin services to business for a fee. Elementary School Program: Shows students the relationship between what they learn now and how it will impact their success later in life. This supplement to regular grade school curriculum is presented by a volunteer in five 30-45 minute sessions. Middle and High School Programs: Build on concepts learned in elementary programs; supplement standard social studies curriculum; help students make informed, intelligent decisions about how to prepare for educational, professional and financial futures; help students develop communication skills essential to the business world; and teach students about micro- and macro-economics as well as standard business practices.
