Providing social and emotional support to student veterans transitioning from military service to college life by connecting them to a new generation of social workers trained to deliver culturally responsive care. The program emphasizes the vital relationship between community and people and is built on three foundational pillars: transition assistance, suicide prevention through peer mentorship, and community engagement. Program places social work interns into community, healthcare, and educational settings where service members, veterans, and their families work and live. Members assist with resource navigation, peer connection, and community outreach while strengthening coordination across local partners. Members serve part-time while completing degree-required internships or practicums for academic credit. Through hands-on service, students build military cultural competence and practical skills that contribute to stronger, more connected communities of care.

The Per Diem program works to house eligible veterans in community-based housing. Upon completion of the program, veterans will assume the lease and this will become their permanent housing. Once accepted into the program, services provided include: assistance with rent; furniture; utilities; food and coordination with community resources.
