The Sioux Falls Arts Council facilitates the arts and engages the community to discover the value the of the arts in day-to-day living by helping residents and visitors find, enjoy and participate in the artistic and cultural events available in the community. The South Dakota Arts Council (SDAC) is a state agency serving South Dakotans and their communities through the arts. Recognizing the importance of creativity in the lives of all South Dakotans, SDAC makes quality arts accessible throughout the state by providing encouragement, grants, services, and information to artists, arts organizations, schools, and the public.

Provides numerous educational and cultural experiences for youth and adults that include preservation of the historic G.A.R. Hall and the following arts enrichment programming: monthly gallery exhibits and lectures (free and open to the public); youth / adult art classes and programs including: kids studio, kids art camp, and artist unleashed; annual kids art fest; artists in residencies; annual summer concert series (12 concerts); annual high school art scholarships and educator scholarships; annual summer arts festival, and volunteer opportunities.
