Online Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group | American Stroke Association

An online support group for those who have had a stroke or other brain injury/illness. The main focus of the group is to provide opportunity to socialize with others, provide resources, and offer support. This group is facilitated by a speech pathologist, however, no therapy is performed during meetings.

Disability Rehabilitation Services | Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (CKRI) is part of Allina Health. Provides a continuum of rehabilitation services for people with short- and long-term conditions, injuries, and disabilities. The goal is to improve health outcomes, make it easier for clients and families to get the right services for their needs, and reduce costs by preventing complications. Programs include: ​Brain Injury Rehabilitation - Helping patients learn new skills to help manage many of the symptoms of brain injury. ​Cancer rehabilitation - Addresses needs at each stage of treatment, helping patients cope with the effects of cancer and its treatment. ​Chronic pain services - Comprehensive outpatient pain management services. ​Comprehensive inpatient neurological rehabilitation - Hospital-based rehabilitation program for those who require close medical monitoring and management of medical conditions. ​Comprehensive stroke rehabilitation program - Evidence-based treatments support individuals who have had a stroke as they regain daily living skills and become as independent as possible. ​Courage Kenny Kids - Offering physical and occupational therapy and speech-language pathology. ​Courage Kenny Spine Centers - Provides specialized, nonsurgical treatment for low back and neck pain. ​Spinal Cord Rehabilitation - Offers inpatient and outpatient services for persons with a spinal cord injury. ​Occupational/physical therapy and speech-language pathology - Providing outpatient rehabilitation therapy for patients of all ages. Orthopedic and Musculosketal Care - Providing patients with sprains, strains, pain, and fractures the care they need to assist in helping to reduce pain, increase mobility, avoid future injuries, and get individuals back to living their best life as quickly as possible. Community Services - Driver assessment and training, aquatics, adaptive sports and recreation, community behavioral support and vocational services.

Sioux Falls Area Brain Injury Support Group | Brain Injury Alliance of South Dakota

​ A support group for anyone who has sustained a brain injury. Families and friends are encouraged to attend. At times the group will divide into a group for family/friends and a group for individuals who have sustained a brain injury. Call to be added to the mailing list. This group is co-sponsored by Avera McKennan and Sanford Hospitals.

An educational program applicable for stroke survivors and caregivers. Following the program there is an opportunity for socialization. This group does not meet December, January and February.

Brookings Area Brain Injury Support Group | Brain Injury Alliance of South Dakota

Any individual who has had a brain injury is welcome to attend. The support group is also available for family members. Brain injuries can be obtained from accidents, falls, multiple concussions, tumors, stokes, lack of oxygen, epilepsy and Parkinson's, to name a few. The brain injury may be a recent injury or one that has been acquired for many years.
